About
The Author
I’m a London-based writer and voice-over artist, originally from the Netherlands. I write historical fantasy and adventure fiction, with a particular fondness for old mysteries, unlikely friendships and characters making spectacularly questionable decisions.
Salt and Bones began, unexpectedly, in virtual reality. Years ago, a friend and I spent an afternoon sailing the virtual seas together, battling enormous sea monsters, and afterwards I couldn’t quite let the idea go. The story eventually became something quite different, but that little virtual voyage was where it all began.
Alongside writing, I work as a voice-over artist. Under the name Kim May, my audiobook work includes Nadine Brandes’ The Wishtress and Mastering ADHD for Women by Professor Sandra Kooij and Jacqueline van de Sande.
When I’m not writing or behind a microphone, I’m usually running unnecessarily long distances or trying to learn something new.
